Sandy Bodamer
Fitness Director
Sandy moved to Camden over 13 years ago from Pittsburgh, PA. to be close to her
family. There was a need for exercise instructors at the Camden YMCA so she
volunteered to teach a class which evolved into her current position as Fitness
Director. In this position Sandy oversees supervision and administration of the
fitness Department with an emphasis on group exercise classes. Sandy says she
feels she is a versatile "team player" that can tackle many roles while continuing to
build a strong sense of community in both adult and active older adult fitness. In
her "spare" time Sandy is a part-time caterer, event planner and enjoys culinary
challenges. Her hobbies include reading, painting and obviously fitness! She is a
single parent with two young adults, Lindsey and Justin. Justin serves in the United
States Army.  Sandy lives in Rockland. Sandy graduated from Fairview High
School, Fairview, PA in 1972 and attended Westminster College in New
Wilmington, PA.

Jen Curtis
Aquatics Director
Jen is the ideal person to oversee all the Y's Aquatics programs. She not only enjoys
being around people of all ages, but she spent 5 consecutive summers starting in
1999 involved with the Y's camping programs, during which time she also taught at
Boothbay and at John Bapst Memorial High School. Her love of working with
students outside the classroom led her to be involved with Varsity Basketball and
Soccer, Outing Club, Track and Field, Intramural Indoor Soccer, Girls Science
Camp, and Intramural Basketball. Jen grew up in Aroostook County, remaining in
the area through her graduation from both Caribou High School and the University
of Maine at Presque Isle, where she received a Bachelors of Science degree in
Secondary Education with a concentration in Biology. She is currently working on
her Masters of Exercise Science degree at the University of Maine, something she
knows will help her in her continuing interest in incorporating physical fitness and
science in instructing people at the Y. She likes backpacking, alpine and cross-
country skiing, snowshoeing, and movies. Jen and Troy are the proud parents of
daughter Bailey and son Bryce..

Richard Fletcher
Facilities Director
Dick was born and raised in Hudson, Ohio—in 1968 graduated from Ohio State
University and immediately married his high school sweetheart—Jan Hunter.  He
spent the next three years as an officer in the U.S. Army with a one year tour in
Viet Nam.  Dick and Jan lived in Virginia for almost 30 years—they raised three
children who are grown and still living in Virginia.  Dick and Jan’s home in Virginia
was a small farm complete with horses, goats, chickens, cats and dogs, plus
whatever other creatures the kids were rescuing and raising at the moment.  While
in Virginia, Dick was in sales and management with a wholesale plumbing
company, moved on to mechanical contracting, and then Maintenance Director for
the Essex County Public School system.  Jan was homemaker and an office
manager for a local doctor.  In Virginia Dick was active with the school PTA,
American Legion, Home Builders Association, county rescue squad, was on various
County Boards, and he and Jan were Emergency Foster Care Parents.  Jan was
also active with the County Extension Group, 4-H, and various School Committees
and County Boards.  In 1999, Dick and Jan moved to Round Pond, Maine and built
on property that has been in Jan’s family for generations—they again have a small
‘farm’ with Icelandic horses—five of them no less.  Jan is the ‘horse’ person—
Dick’s hobby is doing whatever he can with his Kubota tractor—clear land, fence
in pastures, put in roadways, etc., doing whatever he can outside.  Prior to
accepting the Facilities Director position here at the YMCA, Dick was the
Maintenance Director at a nursing home in Waldoboro.  Dick feels there can be no
better place to work than at a YMCA—particularly this one!
