“We can't thank them enough.” For more than 90 years, the generosity of our donors has helped the Penobscot Bay YMCA provide services to those who need a little help. From the very beginning in 1916, the roots of the YMCA have been in providing a place of safety, caring and respect for the residents of the Penobscot Bay region. Intended as a refuge for working men and boys to avoid the evils of society, the current YMCA offers programs that foster caring, responsibility, respect and honesty for men, women, girls and boys. From the beginning, no one has ever been turned away from the YMCA for inability to pay. The donors to the 2006 Annual Support campaign raised over $125,000 to provide financial assistance for swim lessons, family memberships, summer day camp and senior exercise classes. The following individuals are our most valued supporters of the Penobscot YMCA.
