Please come in and ask the Member Service Desk for more information. Member Service Desk Hours are: Monday through Friday, 6 am to 9 pm Saturday, 7 to 5 pm Sunday, 12 to 5 pm Lost and Found The Penobscot Bay YMCA has a Lost & Found. All valuable items are held at the Member Service Desk. Other items are held on the pool observation desk in our Lost and Found bin. Due to a lack of storage space, we can only hold lost items for one week from the day they were placed in the Lost & Found bin. At that time, all items will be donated to a local charity. Parking Lot We have ample on-site parking. However, during special events e.g., basketball tournaments, sailfish swim meets, etc., our facility parking overflows. On such occasions, the YMCA provides shuttle service from satellite parking areas. Our good neighbors and friends from Peopleplace Cooperative Preschool, Coastal Workshop and Tibbets Industries have agreed to let the YMCA’s patron utilize their parking during special events. Items for Purchase The Penobscot Bay YMCA has swim diapers, goggles, swim caps and other items for purchase at the Member Service Desk. Towel and Lock Cards Towel and Lock cards are available for member convenience. Both cards require an initial $10 fee. The Towel Card allows members the ability to rent towels. Thereafter, members pay $1 each time a towel is requested from the member services desk. The Lock Card allows the member to rent a lock. Members exchange Lock Cards for locks at the front desk. The cards have no expiration date, however there is a replacement fee of $10. A.W.A.Y. Program We officially participate in the A.W.A.Y. (Always Welcome at YMCA’s) Program. When a person joins a YMCA, he/she becomes a member of a nationwide association of people; therefore, when away from home, this member will be welcomed and treated as a member by other participating YMCA’s in the country. Our YMCA will welcome members from other YMCA’s at no additional charge for 2 consecutive weeks, if they live within a 60 mile radius. After the two-week time period, A.W.A.Y. members must pay full membership fees. If a visitor is from a YMCA outside of the 60 mile radius, he or she is granted 2 non-consecutive weeks per calendar year. The word “AWAY” is printed on all Penobscot Bay YMCA membership cards. When a member of our YMCA visits another YMCA, they need only to present their membership card to gain entrance to another facility. It is important to note that other YMCA’s may have different A.W.A.Y policies. Supporting our Military Families Any family of the National Guard or Reserve whose significant other is called for deployment may receive a 3-month complimentary membership. If your family is Active Duty Coast Guard, please speak with a YMCA Front Desk Representative for special member rates. Please bring your significant other's active duty orders to the front desk when signing up for the membership. Membership Policy Who shall be eligible to hold membership in this corporation?
